Nostalgia

Let me state clearly right up front: I do not want another kid. I have no desire to return to diapers and sleepless nights, and the one kid I have, though easy by practically any measure, is still plenty challenging for me. That's not to say that I don't remember with extreme fondness moments like this one:

There are so many ways in which he's more interesting now (and in my humble opinion, just as cute) without being much more trouble than he was then, but sometimes I do miss those chubby cheeks and that wispy hair...and those cute little New Balance sneakers, especially poised on tippy-toes.

I get nostalgic too but for tiny newborns even though I have a just turned one year old! I cannot stop going to dooce.com to see pictures of her baby.
