If I look sad, it's because I knew this was probably the last time Annie would sit on my lap (I was right about that). This is pretty close to the position we call Mudpie, which she'd been in earlier in the day; I couldn't get a photo of it then because I was home alone and had only a 50mm lens within reach. Mudpie generally occurs when Annie sort of falls into the groove between my legs and flattens out to look like a cow patty. Here she's about as flattened out as she can be while sitting perpendicular to my legs. [The missing fur on her side is where the vet shaved her to tap her lungs.]
